The 5069-OBV8S module is a safety output module that belongs to the 5069 series of the Compact 5000 I/O field potential distributors manufactured by AB. This module provides safety I/O to different safety networks so that the requirements of all the international standards are met. This module includes an 8-point safety sourcing output and it can be used as a local or remote I/O module in conjunction with a control module. Other functions provided by the module are sourcing outputs and bipolar type outputs. The AB 5069-OBV8S safety output module can be configured with the Studio 5000 Logix Designer Software. These modules use a producer and consumer communication system that consists of intelligent data transfers between the modules and different devices. Under this operating model, each module can produce data without the need to be polled first.

The AB 5069-OBV8S safety output module comes with a conformal coating that protects it against dull environments. This module is a DC module and its 8-point output has a voltage of 18 to 32 Volts DC. The AB 5069-OBV8S safety output module operates with a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius maximum in a horizontal orientation and a range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius maximum in a vertical orientation. The temperature should not be higher than the maximum rating since it could cause overheating and damages to the module. The output rating of the module is 1 Amp per channel. The wire needs to be made out of copper and the isolation voltage rating of the module is up to 250 Volts. All the wires need to be tight and secure to avoid failures during the use of the module.
